On Tuesday 16 April at 14.00 the Winemaker Emanuele Serafin will conduct a tasting of the 2023 millesimo, which this year is enhanced by the indication “Vigna”, in accordance with strict DOCG protocol.

The Bandarossa Special Edition comes from the Collagù hill, a unique vineyard tended by the Bortolomiol family for decades, valorising an iconic area in the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Il Segreto Today and Tomorrow

On Monday 15 April at 16.00 the Winemaker Roberto Cipresso will conduct a tasting of the 2019 and 2020 vintage of Il Segreto di Giuliano, our Tuscan San Giovese. A meeting between the present and the future of this thoroughbred Sangiovese that rests for one year in French oak barriques, coming from an old and picturesque vineyard in Montalcino and produced in a limited run of just 3.000 bottles.

The Sparkle Guide 2024, dedicated to the best Italian sparkling wines, was presented on 2 December at the Parco dei Principi Grand Hotel & Spa, where during Sparkle Day! tastings took place of our wines awarded 5 globes.

Once again this year Elvira Bortolomiol is recognised as one of Italy’s 100 best winemakers in the guide entitled: “The 100 best wines and winemakers in Italy. How to drink well, spend the right amount and find products that promote sustainability” written by journalist Luciano Ferraro and sommelier James Suckling.

The guide gives broad coverage to the Green Projects launched by Elvira and family in the vineyard and in the winery, from the family vineyards converted to Organic farming, where since the first few months of 2023 beehives have been installed, to the study with Indaco2 which has led to the possibility of offsetting CO2 emissions with a family owned woodland of over 3 hectares on Monte Cesen, and the first Sustainability Budget which is being finalised in 2023.

The label chosen is the Bandarossa Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Dry Millesimato 2022, an iconic wine that takes its name from the sign that the founder, Giuliano Bortolomiol, drew on the bottles of the year’s best selection of “Prosecco di Valdobbiadene” Extra Dry.

OTTAVIA SCAGLIOTTI BORTOLOMIOL

Ottavia Scagliotti left us silently, with that same elegance which for 95 years had always distinguished her life.
Arriving in Valdobbiadene in the 1950s, together with Giuliano she managed to rebuild in the post-war period an essential piece of an entire territory and with perseverance and devotion put her faith in a little project which today has become an established brand.
With tenacity and determination she was able to act as a bonding agent in difficult times and enjoy the success earned initially together with Giuliano and later with their daughters, overseeing with a firm hand the crucial, delicate and sudden generational transition and contributing to the new history of the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene.
Always Giuliano’s advisor, Ottavia and her husband were a close-knit couple who together built their greatest success, the family.
A lifetime spanning almost a century, an immense collection of milestones, of rich and satisfying moments and of handed-down values.
In the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing her remain the stories and testimonies of bygone times which she never tired of telling.
We will always remember her like this, a woman of different times, with her pearl necklace, her steadfastness, her smile and her soulful eyes.

A bound cover containing memorable stories, made all the more tangible by the material form. The fact that they can be touched, browsed, seen and read makes them even more authentic. The Dream of Prosecco, by Ettore Gobbato, is re-published by Giunti in a new more in-depth edition. It tells the story of Giuliano Bortolomiol, of an authentic family, of the ups and downs of life and of a passion that has been handed down to the present time.
The new edition of the book includes a foreword by Professor Attilio Scienza who enriches the narrative, exploring a human dialogue, the relationship with nature and with the Prosecco Superiore economic district, which was yet to be developed but in which Giuliano foresaw great potential. The new edition also contains some current reflections on organic farming, sustainability and on the hills that have been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
The roots of the book, first published in 2008, go back a long way. Luigi Veronelli, one of the leading Italian wine critics, included Giuliano Bortolomiol in his list of the “praiseworthy” figures in the “I Semi” series at the end of the 1990s, a collection devoted to the men and women who have appreciated the value of the land where they lived and worked.
The first edition, published by Luigi Veronelli Editore under the supervision of Gian Arturo Rota, brought this desire to fruition. A heritage now taken on by Giunti Editore and made known to the public at large.

On Saturday 21 May in Rome Doctorwine, by Daniele Cernilli, in the new spaces of the Caffetteria  Massimo at the Capitoline Museums Centre, presented the new Guide “Wines for Summer” 2022: “a precious little book, made of tastings, advice and little stories which tell about the wonderful world of Italian wine”.
The event also featured a large area dedicated to tastings where we were present with our iconic products: Ius Naturae Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Biologico Millesimato, Gran Cuvée del Fondatore Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Brut Millesimato Rive San Pietro di Barbozza and Superiore di Cartizze Valdobbiadene DOCG Dry Millesimato.

Parco della Filandetta | Wine&Art Farm

During the second half of May, the Parco della Filandetta Wine&Art Farm will host the Portuguese artist Inês Coelho da Silva, who will be in residence for some weeks. Valuable time that the artist will use to immerse herself in the territory and the history of our winery to gain an awareness of the work undertaken by mankind here over the course of time. This commission spanning the world of wine and art will result in a new work, the product of an international vision that the artist will assimilate into her creation.
“We strongly believe in art as a cultural message that the wine can feed on” states Maria Elena Bortolomiol, President of the Winery, “and the Parco della Filandetta is the perfect place for this synergy to emerge, bringing together our environmental, social and economic sustainability projects, in a container, the Wine&Art Farm, that has put down solid roots in the heart of the Appellation”.
The work of art, which will be unveiled for the first time on 27 May, will be open to the public on 29 May for the Open Wineries event, it will then become a permanent feature of the Park, joining the existing works of art and offering visitors the opportunity to explore the content on the Art and Nature Tour, which can be booked on the website.

The 27th edition of the prestigious Düsseldorf Trade Show will take place from 15 to 17 May.

The annual B2B appointment for the wine and spirits industry will take place in May this year and will involve 5500 exhibitors from 60 different countries around the world in 13 Halls.

One more step in the direction of sustainability and the environment: from May onwards you can charge your electric bike and Vespa directly at the Parco della Filandetta.

We have now installed charging stations for electric bicycles and Vespas, to promote a dynamic style of tourism that allows our guests to enjoy the hills of our Appellation by following routes with unique panoramas.

Bortolomiol celebrates the centenary of the birth of its founder, Giuliano.

27 February 1922 – 27 February 2022. A hundred years have passed since the birth of Giuliano Bortolomiol in Valdobbiadene, a name destined to write an important chapter in the history of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG. After attending the Conegliano School of Oenology, Giuliano decided to stay in his native land to rebuild what the war had destroyed. And to do so starting from the wine.
