24 Mar Wine Spectator awards Bortolomiol among the best Prosecco Superiore
In the April issue of Wine Spectator, an in-depth article by Alison Napjus recounts Prosecco Superiore and the characteristics of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene area, ending with a ranking out of 90 tasted wines, which includes Bortolomiol, appearing in the TOP WINES list with 88 points.
Prosecco has seen phenomenal success in the United States in recent years. Imports of Prosecco to the U.S. skyrocketed from fewer than a million cases in 2010 to almost 4 million cases just five years late-according to Impact Databank, a sister publication of Wine Spectator. Prosecco’s success is undeniable, but not all Proseccos are created equal, states Napjus, clarifying first of all the territorial difference between the hillside Prosecco (DOCG) and the DOC Prosecco.
