30 Jan Prosecco Superiore hills soon UNESCO heritage
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced the Italian National Commission for UNESCO has unanimously approved the Italian candidature for the 2017-2018 UNESCO list of World Heritage of Humanity of the wine landscape of Prosecco Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.
“With this nomination – said Minister Maurizio Martina – we want to affirm the great cultural and environmental value that our agriculture has especially in areas as the hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. At the same time we would love to strength the position of this area worldwide of the finest wine productions in our country. ”
“It is a recognition that we receive with pride, because it responds to the engage that a every day inhabitant of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene dedicate to this land and making it unique. This candidacy adds new value to the beauty of this territory for centuries expresses its potential in many fields of knowledge: viticulture, first of all, but also the tradition and wine innovation, art and architecture. We would say “thanks” to the President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia, who dedicated a commendable commitment to the achievement of this milestone and of course the Ministries involved in the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, as well as those who have contributed with their professionalism to the preparation of the dossier application “Innocente Nardi, President of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG Prosecco Consortium.
