CUCINA&VINI HONOURS THE BANDAROSSA SPECIAL RESERVE

Saturday 30 November was the date of this year’s SparkleDAY, the event promoted by the magazine Cucina & Vini which returned to Rome for the eleventh time bringing together professionals and non-professionals for what this year too proved to be the most important event dedicated to Italian sparkling wines. Represented on the tasting tables were 60 top level wineries drawn from the North and South of the peninsula, including the areas most renowned for their production. As tradition has it, the proceedings began with a presentation of the guide edited by Cucina & Vini and the awards ceremony for the coveted 5 balls in which our Bandarossa Special Reserve Valdobbiadende Prosecco Superiore Extra Dry DOCG was a prize winner.

Francesco D’Agostino, director of Cucina & Vini and curator of the Sparkle guide explains: The Sparkling wine guide has now become a veritable reference manual for navigating through a world that is increasingly well-structured and above all that deals with wines of the highest calibre and others that are really quite simple. It is clear that the areas with the best sparkling wine heritage are still Franciacorta, Trento, Alta Langa, Prosecco Superiore di Conegliano Valdobbiadene, Alto Adige, Oltrepò Pavese and Roero Arneis, but these are joined by wineries that for several years now have been guaranteeing top level products. A total of seventy samples which can hold their own against the finest sparkling wines in the world”.

A parallel also confirmed by the figures regarding consumption abroad, clear testimony of a healthy industry and above all one that shows constant growth.
