Bortolomiol: excellent results for the harvest 2016

The 2016 vintage went very well for Bortolomiol and the good forecasts were confirmed. This year was distinguished by a climatic seesaw: a pretty cool July contrasted with a rise in temperatures in August, and finally the rains in September helped the perfect ripening of the grapes.

The values of acidity and aromatic compounds were very good, moreover the grapes of the Great Founder’s Reserve, a Rive, and also the grapes from Bandarossa vineyards featured excellent values.

We had high expectations from this vintage that looked to be very interesting from a qualitative point of view – says Elvira Bortolomiol – the harvest began in late September starting from the valley vineyards and gradually going up the steep hills of Valdobbiadene following the curves of ripeness, until the first week of October. Now after the harvest completion we can confirm our expectations in terms of quality and feel very satisfied with the work we did, also thanks to a regular commitment in the vineyard and the continuation of GreeMark project. Today our oenologists team is working in the cellar in order to achieve a perfect first fermentation to select and follow step by step all the stages of sparkling wine production”.
